May Challenge, Part Two: Inspired by Nature

Hello all! To refresh your memory, I’m participating in a challenge sponsored by the Hobby Polish Bloggers group. It’s an “easy” challenge – only 4 to do. Here is my first challenge, inspired by fashion. Today’s challenge is “inspired by nature”. This is my inspiration:

This is a shirt that I have, and love to wear. Yes, I know it’s cheating a bit to use a shirt, which technically is fashion, but it’s flowered, so it’s nature! πŸ˜›

I started off with a base of NOPI’s Strike a Pose:

This is such a perfect pink coral color. I kind of didn’t want to paint over it! I then added rounded splotches of color on top of it with a nail art brush: OPI’s My Vampire is Buff, SOPI Seriously It’s a Naan Issue (dark purple), OPI Planks a Lot (light purple); for the leaves/stems I used Sally Hansen Green With Envy (light green) and Color Club Wild Cactus (dark green).

Yes, my cuticles are a bit oily. I realized after I had taken some pictures that my cuticles were super dry, so I moisturized those suckers up. What do you think of my free-form flowers? As this is my first free-form flowers using a brush, I’m really really happy with how they turned out, and I’m really happy with how they compare to my inspiration! So, what’s on your nails today? I’d love to see them! Post them to my facebook page or link it up in the comments!
