Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great Monday so far. π For today’s prompt of “Christmas decorations”, I have to admit that I kind of phoned it in. This weekend just wiped me out!
I’ve started with 2 coats of ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights, a really stunning black holographic polish, and almost a One-Coat Wonder:
I then used one coat of ellagee Sky, a flaky topper. I have to admit that I’m not completely sold on flaky toppers yet. Yes, this is pretty, but I’m just kind of meh.
Next I used just a bit of Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty, a silver sparkly glitter topper. Then using Sinful Colors Beau Brique, I created a ribbon and outlined it with Sinful Colors Black on Black.
I know it isn’t the most creative manicure, but I still like it! Check out some more Christmas decorations:
I’m also participating in the annual holiday nails blog hop hosted by The Sparkle Queen:
Soβ¦talk to me about flaky toppers. Are you going crazy over them? Or are you meh about them like me?
So so pretty π
Thank you! π
That flakie top coat is so pretty!
Thanks Lisa, I’m glad you like it!
I really like how this looks! Not every mani needs to be exceptionally creative to look good. Sometimes simple is best. π And I am definitely with you on flaky toppers. They can look very pretty (like this one), but I’d rather spend my money on a polish that doesn’t need to be layered over something else. I’m lazy like that π
I’m sometimes lazy too! π
Love this a lot! As for flakies, I got the ones I wanted back when Shine of the Times and the FingerPaints flakies were the rage. I don’t need any more. But I still they are very pretty!
I have very few flakies, I don’t know why I’m so meh about them. LOL!
I loooove the basecoat with the flakies, very magical looking!
Thanks, I didn’t think of it like that! π
I love this little bow. I think you did a great job and the flakies look amaaazing
Thank you! π
Simple doesn’t necessarily mean bad. This is timeless and elegant. I love the flakies over the black holo!
Thank you, Ali! π
I’m loving the bow!
Thank you! π
I hear ya on the being wiped out after this weekend! Spent most of this weekend doing all these prompts cuz this next week and a half is so busy because of the holidays and I wanted to make sure I got them all done! Haha
Now onto the mani, I LOVE this! Simple yet still super pretty! And that Ellegee polish is gorgeous! I agree with you about the flakie polishes btw, still haven’t gotten that Ohhh must own that feeling haha
Wow, you are ahead of the game! I need to get my stuff together so I can get ahead too. π
Thank you for your compliment. It’s probably a good thing I don’t get that “must own” feeling from flakies anyway. LOL!
You might not consider it creative but the execution is perfect!
Thank you so much! π
Oh I love that flakie! Your freehand bow is adorable too.
Thank you, Andrea!
Can I just say that I just had a little mini dance party to Scenes From An Italian Restaurant based on that ellagee?! I love that song, and that polish totally does it justice!
I really like flakies, but I don’t see a need to own all of them. I did, however, pick up almost all the ILNP opaque multi chrome flakies – they seemed unique enough at the time π
Great mani!! I love the ribbon!
Hey, who doesn’t love dancing?! LOL!
I didn’t even pick up the flakies from ILNPβ¦crazy, right?!
I actually won an ILNP giveaway, so I used that to pick 6 up…. and bought 2 more on top of that. I think I’m set for life when it comes to flakies π
Ohhh, I love the layering you did for the base! I think this is super cute and festive in a more refined way. π Your bow is awesome.
I like the details you were able to get in the bow even if you were phoning it in. I’ve done that a few times this challenge when time just got away from me. I love that Ellagee and it’s almost a 1 coater! How awesome is that. I go back and forth on the flakie things. I won the entire set of Finger Paints one for their 2nd release and I was really excited about it then, but I haven’t reached for them since.
Well, it’s always exciting to win something, so I can understand that.
This weekend was just crazy, I had to do my nails in a rush this morning. Blergh. We’ll see about the next prompt, I guess! LOL!
Love the base shade you used! SO pretty!
Thank you, Jess!
Very cute! That base color is amazing!!
Thank you, Monica!
Sky looks awesome!
Thank you, Valesha! I’m glad you like it!
This is gorgeous! I love that flakie! I’m pretty much phoning in this entire challenge since I’m exhausted lately, but I’m trying my best to do as many prompts as possible!
You are doing awesomely, Jenny! β€
My jar dropped. Love these and the nail art!
Thanks so much, Lisa!
