12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Christmas Decorations

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great Monday so far. πŸ™‚ For today’s prompt of “Christmas decorations”, I have to admit that I kind of phoned it in. This weekend just wiped me out!

I’ve started with 2 coats of ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights, a really stunning black holographic polish, and almost a One-Coat Wonder:

I then used one coat of ellagee Sky, a flaky topper. I have to admit that I’m not completely sold on flaky toppers yet. Yes, this is pretty, but I’m just kind of meh.

Next I used just a bit of Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty, a silver sparkly glitter topper. Then using Sinful Colors Beau Brique, I created a ribbon and outlined it with Sinful Colors Black on Black.

I know it isn’t the most creative manicure, but I still like it! Check out some more Christmas decorations:

I’m also participating in the annual holiday nails blog hop hosted by The Sparkle Queen:

So…talk to me about flaky toppers. Are you going crazy over them? Or are you meh about them like me?

  1. I really like how this looks! Not every mani needs to be exceptionally creative to look good. Sometimes simple is best. πŸ™‚ And I am definitely with you on flaky toppers. They can look very pretty (like this one), but I’d rather spend my money on a polish that doesn’t need to be layered over something else. I’m lazy like that πŸ˜›

  2. I hear ya on the being wiped out after this weekend! Spent most of this weekend doing all these prompts cuz this next week and a half is so busy because of the holidays and I wanted to make sure I got them all done! Haha

Now onto the mani, I LOVE this! Simple yet still super pretty! And that Ellegee polish is gorgeous! I agree with you about the flakie polishes btw, still haven’t gotten that Ohhh must own that feeling haha

    • Wow, you are ahead of the game! I need to get my stuff together so I can get ahead too. πŸ™‚

Thank you for your compliment. It’s probably a good thing I don’t get that “must own” feeling from flakies anyway. LOL!

  3. Can I just say that I just had a little mini dance party to Scenes From An Italian Restaurant based on that ellagee?! I love that song, and that polish totally does it justice!
I really like flakies, but I don’t see a need to own all of them. I did, however, pick up almost all the ILNP opaque multi chrome flakies – they seemed unique enough at the time πŸ™‚
Great mani!! I love the ribbon!

  4. I like the details you were able to get in the bow even if you were phoning it in. I’ve done that a few times this challenge when time just got away from me. I love that Ellagee and it’s almost a 1 coater! How awesome is that. I go back and forth on the flakie things. I won the entire set of Finger Paints one for their 2nd release and I was really excited about it then, but I haven’t reached for them since.

    • Well, it’s always exciting to win something, so I can understand that.

This weekend was just crazy, I had to do my nails in a rush this morning. Blergh. We’ll see about the next prompt, I guess! LOL!
