Renaissance Faire makeup look and hair

Hi everyone! I thought I’d share my hair and makeup look I created a few weeks ago for attending a local Renaissance Faire (RennFaire). It’s always fun to go to this RennFaire because 1 – there are a ton of redheads which I don’t always get to see! and 2 – the booths are fun to peruse and activities are so fun to watch.

I loosely followed this picture from mabsmakeup on instagram for my eye makeup. My friend Kate suggested that I do some deep greens but as I had other obligations that day, I couldn’t go too crazy. 

I started off with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, then a nude to me base. I then rubbed around NYX Cosmetics Milk as a sticky base for these shadows. In the inner corner, I used Glamour Doll Eyes Forever Alone. Underneath that, I used FrankenGlamour. Next to Forever Alone, I used Radley Prep and then Incognito Remix. On the lower lash line, I used Fairy Royalty, then Irrational. Then I blended, blended, blended. I also patted on GDE Foil Me (to help loose eyeshadows stick without blending out the sparkle), then went over with each eyeshadow to help really bring out the sparkle.

I’ve used Urban Decay Demolition and Jesse’s Girl liquid eyeliner for my eyeliner. My mascara is Hope Girl. Eyebrows are It’s Skin Babyface Natural Eyebrow 02 then Rimmel London Brow This Way in clear.

For highlight, I’ve used Wet N Wild Rainbow Highlighter in Unicorn Glow; contour is Bronze Over the Rainbow; blush is Illuminating Palette in Catwalk Pink.

For my lips, I’ve used Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in 215 Shameless topped in the middle by Wet N Wild MegaLast Iridescent Lip Color in Unicorn Soul. Last is Hope Girl Sebum Control Pore Pact in 01 Mint.

For my hair, I followed this hair tutorial from silvousplait (love her blog btw!).

My daughter helped me braid my hair – she is getting to be quite proficient and really wants to take it to the next level! We might get a booth for next year’s RennFaire and practice, practice, practice between now and then!

I really have to say though that I’m quite bummed out about the state of my hair right now. I’m loosing so much hair lately because of postpartum hormones, so my hair is quite thin and balding even in some spots! It really is quite a horrible feeling to see a bald spot. I’m really hoping that this hair loss lets up soon – in the meantime, I’m trying out some Jamaican Black Castor Oil to see if that will help. Any tips?
