Revlon Parfumerie Espresso & Balsam Fir

gift buttonHi everyone! How is your day going? Well, I must say that I’m quite ready for spring already! There comes a point in winter where a person is just “over it”, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, like this. haha! But it’s another day that I’m alive, my family is alive and well, and I really have nothing to complain about. Plus, I have to show you two polishes that were gifted to me from my new friend Autty! (Here is her blog, if you’re not already following!) She knew I was still searching for the last two Revlon Parfumerie polishes: Espresso and Balsam Fir; she found them and sent them to me!

First up, Revlon Parfumerie in Balsam Fir. This is 2 normal coats of polish, followed by OPI top coat. (The scent isn’t dulled by the top coat.) This has a slightly minty, forest needle smell. It’s not like a car freshener, which is what I was hoping it wasn’t!

Now Revlon Parfumerie in Espresso. This is also 2 normal coats of polish, followed by OPI top coat. I had a really hard time pinning this smell down, but it reminds me of breakfast time. The smell is like toast with coffee – if that makes any sense!

These are both great polishes – basic black and basic forest green, really, but both applied really nicely. If you’re looking for all the Revlon Parfumerie polishes, click this link and scroll through!

I’d love to hear what you think about these two polishes, so let me hear it in the comments. Until tomorrow,

Revlon Parfumerie Orange Blossom nail polish

gift buttonGood morning everyone! đŸ™‚ It’s a gloriously beautiful Saturday here today, the birds are chirping and if you don’t look at the snow on the ground, you’d think it was spring. But alas, it’s still winter in Montana, so I expect this good weather to be gone soon. đŸ˜‰

Today I have for you Revlon Parfumerie in Orange Blossom. This was a gift from Hannah at The Dalai Lama’s Nails.

The scent on this is like spicy orange sauce, it really does smell like oranges but with a bit of a kick to it. I’m actually glad it isn’t a flowery orange, as I’d prefer a spicy smell to a flowery one. It isn’t a light smell, but again it’s not too strong either. The formula was great, this is 2 coats with OPI top coat (which doesn’t diminish the smell at all).

This is a really great orange creme polish. I’m not big on orange polish, but I’m really digging this one. What do you think of this color? Would you rock it, or is it a pass? Tomorrow is FingerFood’s Theme Buffet which is sparkles! Until then,

Revlon Parfumerie Tropical Rain nail polish

gift buttonGood morning everyone! I hope you’re having a great day so far. I stayed up late watching Doctor Who, and consequently my eyes have not wanted to work yet. đŸ˜› But I have a pretty polish to show you, so let’s get to it.

Today’s polish is another that Hannah from The Dalai Lama’s Nails gifted me: Revlon Parfumerie Tropical Rain.
Revlon Parfumerie Tropical Rain | Be Happy And Buy Polish

The scent on this is a little like what “tropical rain” smells like to candle companies. LOL. It is stronger than the Powder Puff but not as strong as the African Tea Rose polish. The formula is a bit streaky, this is 3 thin coats. I just wish that the shimmer in the bottle was way more prevalent on the nail. đŸ˜¦

The blue is a really beautiful sky blue, but other than the scent, it really isn’t that special, so I wouldn’t worry about going out of your way to find this unless you want the full collection.

What are your thoughts about this polish? Is this one you’ll pick up, or is it a pass? I hope you have a great day, and until the next time,

Revlon Parfumerie Powder Puff nail polish

gift buttonHello everyone! I hope you are having a great day. đŸ™‚ The oh so lovely Hannah from The Dalai Lama’s Nails sent me a gift of three of the Revlon Parfumerie nail polishes I was missing: Powder Puff, Tropical Rain, and Orange Blossom. I have to show you today Powder Puff.

Powder Puff smells exactly as I’d expect: baby powder. But it isn’t as over-powering as I thought it would be. Some of these Revlon Parfumerie polishes are really really strong, so I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn’t. This is a lovely delicate color, with mini iridescent glitters. Shown here is 3 thin coats, with OPI base coat and top coat.

I have to say, I actually really like this one! It has this pink/purple thing going on that I love and totally makes the polish not just a pink polish. It’s a definite palate cleanser!

What do you think about this one? If you’ve missed any of my previous posts on the Revlon Parfumerie series, here are posts one, two, three, and four. I’m still on the hunt for Balsam Fir and Espresso, let me know when & where you spot those two! Until the next time,

Revlon Parfumerie Water Marble

Good morning everyone! Does anyone else read that in Robin Williams voice from Good Morning Vietnam? No? Well, now you will. đŸ˜› Though I promise that I don’t have a deep voice like Mr. Williams.

Anyway, today I have a water marble mani for you. I’ve been wanting to try out water marbling with the Revlon Parfumerie line for two reasons: one, to see how they will smell; two, to see how well they’ll work.

I’ve started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White before doing the water marbling. I used Revlon Parfumerie in Ginger Melon (bright pink), Moonlit Woods (grey-purple), and Pink Pineapple (light pink).

The formula of the Parfumerie line is not really conducive to water marbling. I may still be a novice at this, but the polish wouldn’t spread out very well, and seemed to dry really really fast. I did make sure my water was the “correct” temperature and I didn’t drop my nail polish from too high either. If you have any tips for me, I’d appreciate them!

As far as the smell – it was so light, I could barely smell it at all; only when I put my fingers next to my nose (next to, not in) could I smell the faint smell of fruity bubblegum.

What do you think of this water marble? It wasn’t perfect, by any means; I struggled with it, especially since it wouldn’t spread out. But I would like to keep practicing this so I can get better at it! đŸ™‚ Tomorrow I’ll have another ellagee polish from her Bejeweled line to show you, so until then,

Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polish Review, part 3

*Lots of pretty pictures ahead.*

Good morning! Today I have my favorites from the new Revlon Parfumerie nail polish line. These are the ones I consider my must-haves. If you missed them, here is part one, part two, and part two continued.

My five favorite nail polishes from this line are: Autumn Spice, Italian Leather, Bordeaux, Wintermint and Chocolate Truffle. All pictures show the polish with base coat and with top coat – the scent was not affected by either.

First up, Autumn Spice, shown is 2 coats but this was almost a one-coater. The scent reminds me of fall candles – I smell cinnamon, gingerbread, and vanilla. The color is this gorgeous brown with flakes of gold and red with almost a purple tinge to it. Formula was easy to work with – just be patient with it!

Next is Italian Leather, shown is 2 coats but this was also almost a one-coater. The scent brings back memories (don’t you love when scents do that!). I’m reminded that as a child, hugging my dad right after he put aftershave on. There is almost an Old Spice smell to it. The color is a khaki green, but it’s definitely not ugly! There is a shimmer that helps it along. As far as the formula – again, be patient with it as it is drying.

Bordeaux is next and shown is 3 coats. If you’re following me on instagram, you’ll have seen that I just had to test this out by opening a bottle of red wine! The scent definitely reminds me of a sweet table red wine. The color is perfectly vampy for fall, and the formula was okay – I needed 3 coats for full opacity.

Next is Wintermint, shown is 3 thin coats. I definitely get a spearmint gum scent from this, with almost a melted buttery smell (weird, right, but it works!). The color is gorgeously mint green with gold sparkles and blue glitter; the formula was a little hard to work with, and seemed to dry almost gritty.

Lastly is Chocolate Truffle, shown is 3 coats. It reminds me of the chocolate scratch’n’sniff stickers of my childhood but not as sickly sweet. This is such a beautiful fall color – I’m so in love! It’s almost a black brown. The formula was okay – not great.

Well, that’s it for all the Revlon Parfumerie nail polishes for right now! (Until I can find the missing 5.) Which one(s) from this grouping did you like the most? Have you tried any? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Until tomorrow,

Missing Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polishes

So, as you know, I’ve been reviewing the Revlon Parfumerie nail polishes (here, here, and here for a start). But I knew that there were a total of 24 – not just the 19 that I’ve found. I found an article today from Nail It Magazine that lists all of them (you can read it here).

The ones I’m missing (and now will be on the lookout for) are:

Orange Blossom, Balsam Fir, Espresso, Powder Puff, and Tropical Rain

I cannot wait for the Orange Blossom one, for sure. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by some of the scents (looking at you, Lavender Soap) and sorely disappointed in others (yeah, you, Lime Basil), so who knows which of these 5 will end of being a favorite! What are your thoughts? Until the next time,
