I recently bought the whole tri-thermal collection from KBShimmer and I’ve been obsessed with using them in fun ways. This was the first one I used because ever since I saw swatches, That’s Smore Like It was the one that jumped out first at me.

This dries fairly gritty, but it’s pretty.

The glitter on this is sparse! I had to place that one star you see. It’s a shame.

Funny story, I was trying to take pictures of this manicure in the sunlight and my cat would not move her butt out of the way – so yup, there’s a cat paw in the next picture. 😛 Also, this is back in March when Montana winter was wreaking havoc on my nails and I couldn’t grow them out worth s***!

Hey I’m back again with more WOC swatches, this time by Melissa of @polishandpups. If you’re interested in my original swatches, here they are. Don’t forget to follow Melissa! The following are all Melissa’s notes:I wanted to get a good idea of how these would wear without topcoat and decided to start with Razzmic Berry. My experiment didn’t go well. Even though they are Insta-Dri, I let it dry for over an hour and went to bed. I woke up with terrible sheet marks. After that unsuccessful attempt I decided to use top coat on all of them; therefore, I don’t really know how all of them work without top coat. I also didn’t find I was happy with all of them in one coat. A couple of them worked okay in one coat but really I needed two for the coverage I prefer. Continue reading

I’m currently trying to find the two here that I don’t have – numbers 13 and 14. I think number 13 is a navy blue, which I would love to have. Not sure on what 14 looks like…give me a holler if you know! All of these, except for Molten Mauve, I found to be thin and runny. I’m showing all of these in their natural matte state, and with one coat of shiny top coat. Continue reading

This is a manicure from a long while back (hi, I’ve taken two weeks off from blogging, I’m behind). These two polishes worked just so right together, and the design worked beautifully on my (then) shorties.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Vitamin Strength Serum, .45 fl oz
Long time coming with this review, but I do like, especially with base coats, top coats, and any nail treatments, to do a thorough review.
This is a spray-on base coat (as evidenced by the name). I do like the convenience of this, you could basically do this in your car or anywhere that you wouldn’t normally put on base coat. It has less smell than regular base coat polish, but there is a faint rubbing alcohol smell. It does dry fairly quickly and with a bit of stickiness (which I don’t mind normally). With my body chemistry, it did work well as a base coat. The only draw back I see is that it is fairly small, and priced about $9 (without tax). If I were going on a trip, I would pack this for sure.
This is an interesting nail treatment. I already have and use Hard As Nails Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil (.45 fl oz), which I like and use often. The pump on this seems to be a little strange, you have to press hard to get serum out but then too much comes out. I hope I just got a defective pump. The product itself comes out like hand sanitizer and rubs in quite similarly. It soaks in fairly well, and doesn’t dry too sticky. Again, I think the small size is better suited for trips or in the car or in a purse or bag. It’s priced anywhere from $5-6.
I have used both of these products since receiving them, and I like them both. I am unsure that at $9, I would repurchase the spray on base coat though.
