Barielle Protect + Color Prosina Cherish and Black Rose nail polishes swatch + review

Good morning all! I hope you are having a fantastic day. I’ve been trying to sit down and plan out posts and some days it’s working out and some days it hasn’t. The life with 3 kids, 1 husband, 3 cats, and other chaotic happenings. But today I have two polishes from Barielle‘s new Prosina line: Cherish and Black Rose.

Cherish is a gorgeous baby pink creme polish. This is 2 coats and no top coat. I wanted to love this polish so much, but unfortunately the formula was just no bueno. It applied unevenly and bubbled, AND took forever to dry (I was going to do nail art with Black Rose). So I thought, “Hmm maybe it’s the conditions in my house right now.” So I tried again the next day and it did the same thing. 😦

Black Rose is a beautiful blackened cherry creme polish. (It reminds me of a Flathead cherry.) This is 2 coats and no top coat. No complaints on formula at all! I am in serious like with the color. But as I was going to do nail art with Cherish, I didn’t apply top coat and without it, my nails chipped within an hour. 😦

As I said, I was planning on doing nail art with the both polishes so I could do a wear test, but I just got so frustrated with the formula of Cherish that I gave up. Have you ever been so exasperated with a polish that you just threw in the towel?

Favorite Mainstream Polishes of 2015

Hi everyone! I’m back with my favorite mainstream polishes of 2015. Just like yesterday’s favorite indie polishes of 2015, what I’m showing you today isn’t necessarily a polish that was released in 2015, just a polish I had on the blog. In chronological order:

Dotticure Skittlette with KBShimmer Too Pop To Handle

Happy Sunday to you, my faithful readers! I hope you know how much I appreciate you. 🙂 Today I have a fun skittlette manicure with KBShimmer Too Pop To Handle!

I started off with Sinful Colors Snow Me White on my thumb and pointer finger, and used Sinful Colors Black on Black for the dots.

On my middle and ring fingers, I used KBShimmer Too Pop To Handle, and on my pinky finger I used Barielle Feathered Slippers [press sample]. Too Pop To Handle was hard to get color-accuracy with, but it is a gorgeous polish!

Barielle Mirror, Mirror Simple Nail Art Manicures

Hi everyone and happy Friday to you! Today I have some simple nail art manicures with the Barielle Mirror, Mirror nail polish collection which is now available through barielle.com.

I didn’t use any nail art tools for any of these manicures – that’s how easy they are!

For this easy nail art look, I started with Barielle Ribbon & Lace and added a stripe of Pretty Woman down the center.

Next I started with Pretty Woman and just on an accent nail added a horizontal stripe of Silk Stockings.

Last, I started with Silk Stockings and using each of the other colors (Ribbon & Lace, Blushing Beauty, Pretty Woman, and Feathered Slippers), placed random dots with the nail brush over each nail.

Barielle Mirror, Mirror Fall-Winter nail polish collection

Good morning out there! Today I have the upcoming fall/winter from Barielle to show you called the Mirror, Mirror collection. This collection consists of 4 creme polishes and 1 jelly polish.

Silk Stockings is the perfect polish for me to have mannequin hands. I adore this kind of color because it’s a great base for nail art, or just for a neutral palette cleanser. This self-leveled beautifully! This is 2 coats, with no top coat.

Ribbon & Lace is a lovely blue-green nail polish (slightly more blue tinged in person). It isn’t really an original polish color, though. This is 2 coats with no top coat – also self-leveled nicely!

Blushing Beauty is a jelly red nail polish, more cooler-toned in person (not so tomato-red). Again, not the most original color, but still nice. This is 2 coats with no top coat; it didn’t self-level as well as the others.

Pretty Woman is a gorgeous blue that has a hint more purple than is shown. It is also a ONE-COAT WONDER! (Yes, that deserves all caps.) No top coat here either, and self-leveled perfectly.

Last is Feathered Slippers, a dark warm gray nail polish. I think it’s a great compliment to Silk Stockings. Formula was a bit thick though; this is 2 coats with no top coat. Again – self-leveled nicely.

All in all, though this isn’t a super-original collection, if you don’t have a nice beige neutral or grey neutral, I’d definitely pick up Silk Stockings and Feathered Slippers.

Barielle Bling It On nail polish collection swatches + review

Good morning, happy readers! At least, I hope you’re happy. 😛 Today I have a glittery and sparkly nail polish collection from Barielle to show you: the Bling It On collection. Click through after the bottle shot photo for more!

New Nail Polishes!

Hey everyone! Just a quick post today with my nail mail from the past few weeks, and some new in-store purchases. Nail mail just makes me so happy, like something in my day has gone right!

First up is the new Barielle Bling It On collection (press sample). From left to right: Angel Dust, Golden Halo, Sea Urchin, Shooting Star, and Amethyst. I really like how Angel Dust looks. I’m not sure about Amethyst – it seems a little out of place with the other 4.

Next is my first ever order from Rica! From left to right: If These Narwhals Could Talk, Good Night, and Good Afternoon. I’ve heard great things about Rica’s jelly polishes so I’m excited to try out Good Night especially.

Next is my Pahlish order (one of many, haha!). From left to right: Confetti Cannon (March 2015 duo), Tissue Paper Flowers (March 2015 duo), Train Underwater, and Italian Cream Soda. Confetti Cannon is already my favorite of these, I think. It sparkles so nicely!

I picked up the Wet N Wild Silver Lake collection at Kmart the other day. From left to right: Wear Skinny Jeans, A Latte Love (not so grey IRL), Reject the Mainstream (brighter IRL), Tree Hugger (also brighter IRL), Stream of Consciousness, Warm Filter. I really like Tree Hugger and Warm Filter here.

I have been wanting the B Squared Lacquer EDM collection so bad and I finally bought it! From left to right: Rave, Plur, Trance, Down Tempo, The Drop, Kandi. No surprise, I really like The Drop and Trance already!

My first Celestial Cosmetics! This year I really have been wanting to try out new brands, so I made a leap of faith to try out Celestial. From top to bottom, left to right: Adrenalin, LE October 2014, Death is Not the End, Sparks Fly Out, Comet Lulin, LE September 2014, Trip. I have Adrenalin on my toes right now and it makes me so happy!

When KBShimmer was running their sale a few weeks ago, I picked up a few polishes I’ve been eyeing. From left to right: Make My Gray, Funky Cold Patina, I’m So Sweet Pea, Cool Hand Cuke, Wind Swarm. Not sure which of these I’ll try out next…hmmmm

OPI finds! Who doesn’t love good deals? From left to right: OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, Samoan Sand, Golden Waves, Frog In My Throat.

I picked up a few OPI polishes from the Hawaiian collection from a beauty supply store. From left to right: OPI Aloha From OPI, That’s Hula-rious!, Lost My Bikini in Molokini, This Color’s Making Waves. I might pick up a few more from this collection but I haven’t decided yet.

Lastly! I picked up a few more Sephora Formula X polishes on clearance at my local Sephora inside JCP. From left to right: Sephora Formula X Magma, Desire, Push the Limits. I don’t normally go for orange polishes, but Magma just looked so pretty I couldn’t resist!

I still am waiting on another Pahlish order (I might have a problem), a Carpe Noctem Cosmetics order, and another set of polishes from Barielle. *phew*
