I really dislike how my wings came out today but I didn’t want to keep trying to fix them and end up with raccoon eyes. 😀 I was kind of shaking when doing my wings (too much coffee!) and just the fact that the wings are fairly straight should be enough for me.

A few weeks ago, I spotted this palette from Lorac at my local TJ Maxx. I decided to finally use it today! I’ve been doing my hair a bit different while I wait for my upcoming trim appointment; I think it looks a bit art deco/1920s-ish, hence the art deco inspired makeup look today!

Makeup look with Glamour Doll Eyes, Jesse’s Girl, Jordana Sweet Cream Matte

Morning everyone! Lately I’ve noticed that reviewing makeup notwithstanding, I’ve fallen into a rut with my makeup looks – I tend to play it safe with neutrals & browns or neutrals & purples. I mean, yeah, play to your strengths but I need to stretch myself a bit.

That’s how this makeup look with Glamour Doll Eyes Dreamboat and Cozy Sweater with Jesse’s Girl Sounds of the City eyeshadow palette came about. I’ve also used an untried lippie from Jordana, Cinnamon Toast from the Sweet Cream Matte line. 

Glamour Doll Eyes Insider Look 1: Pass the Bubbly, Fabulous! Remix, Incognito Remix, Cloud Coverage EOTD

Hi everyone! Just a quick post this afternoon – I applied to be a Glamour Doll Eyes insider and I was accepted last week. Glamour Doll Eyes (GDE) is an indie makeup company that I’ve been supporting and using for years, so I’m thrilled that I was chosen! I get to use 6 eyeshadows (that were sent to me) in 4 different EOTD looks and I have the first look to show you here.

I started off with Pass the Bubbly all over. I then used Fabulous! Remix on the lid. I mixed Incognito Remix with Glamour Doll Eyes Foil Me in my crease and the outer corner. In the inner corner, I used Cloud Coverage for a bit of brightness.

The eyeliner used for my waterline is L’Oreal Infallible eyeliner in black and for the regular lining is CoverGirl Intensify Me eyeliner [press sample, previously swatched]. My mascara is Buxom in black. Lastly, the lippie is a nude by Laura Geller Luscious Lips Liquid Lipstick, Cherry Almond.

December Faves #JanuaryBeauty

Good afternoon, my wonderful readers. I hope you enjoyed my blogging resolutions post yesterday, and I thank you for your feedback. I truly appreciate you, the reader, whether you comment or not.

Okay, today’s prompt for #JanuaryBeauty is December Faves. I thought I’d go through my makeup and my polishes and see what I really liked for December.

First up is nail polish, because, umm, this is a mainly a polish blog. 😛 This is Sephora Formula X Intergalactic, a textured polish. You’ll be seeing a swatch of this soon, as well as a nail art look with it.

Next up is Lorac’s Princess Palette (prize). I received the entire Lorac Royal Collection as a prize won from Hey Sabrina Faith. (Say hello to my elbows! LOL) While I used all of them a lot, I really kept going back to the Princess Palette.

Glamour Doll Eyes is one of my favorite places to pick up stunning eyeshadows, and I used a lot of GDE shadows in December! Dirty 30 is one of my favorites that I go back to over and over.

Milani Liquid Eye in 05 Brown is a new-to-me eyeliner but I found myself reaching for it over and over again in December.

I have a love/hate relationship with this next product: Buxom mascara. Sometimes I like it and it looks great; sometimes I hate it because it flakes like mad on me! I (obviously) liked it a lot in December though.

Lastly is one of my favorite lippies that I reach for all the time, no matter what. It’s Revlon’s ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry. It’s a matte (duh) red but warm pink undertone, and it totally gives off a retro vibe when I wear it, and I can’t get enough of it. Here’s a swatch of it on the back of my hand:

Face Of the Day with Wet n Wild, TEEEZ Cosmetics, and NYX Cosmetics

Hi, my awesome readers! I have so much fun playing with makeup and makeup looks, and sometimes I have a hard time finding reviews, swatches of makeup, or makeup looks for pale redheads. (Hey, natural redheads may be less than 2% of the general population, but we still want great makeup too!)

So, I thought I’d share more of my makeup looks on the actual blog (instead of just my instagram). It’s definitely not going to be every day, really just whenever I feel like sharing (and I have the time to snap a photo!). Don’t worry – nails and nail art will still be the main focus of this blog! That’s my first love and I’m still passionate about it.

For today’s look, I’ve used

• On my brow bone, Wet n Wild “base” from the Smoke & Melrose set
• On my eyelid, Wet n Wild “crease” from the Smoke & Melrose set
• In the outside vee, I’ve used TEEEZ Cosmetics in Sweet Sins
• Blush is Glamour Doll Eyes in Midlife Crisis
• Bronzer is Buxom Cosmetics in Tahiti
• Eyeliner is Milani Liquid Eye in 05 Brown
• Mascara is Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless in 001 Black (prize)

Smoke & Melrose is such a great 5-pan palette; I picked it up this summer/fall on a sale for $1.99. I do have a bit of fall out, but honestly, it’s a rocking palette for the money! Sweet Sins is a great duo chrome kind of shade: from a blue/green shade to a purplish red shade. It does have quite a bit of fall out though!

Lastly on my lips is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi:

Abu Dhabi is a bit more tan toned – not as orange as the picture shows. This is a fairly recent purchase, and my first Soft Matte Lip Cream from NYX. It does dry with a matte finish (uh derrr Jessica!), and it ends up drying out my lips after about 30 minutes or so.

I know my pictures aren’t the best, and I need to practice with color accuracy.  I don’t photoshop or edit my photos other than cropping and adding my watermark. Keep in mind that I’m not a professional makeup artist (and I don’t claim to be). Please stick with me as I (hopefully) get better at this! 🙂
