KBShimmer No Comet, 4 coats plus top coat. This was sheer, more sheer than I expected. Next time I use it, it’ll be over a base color.

When I saw No Comet, I really wanted to do something classy with it but I really had no idea what. That’s when I went searching through my drawers of nail art, gems, vinyls, and other assorted ephemera. I came across some old water slide decals I had purchased from KBShimmer and had a “light bulb” moment. 😀 It reminds me so much of blue china dishes!

I really gotta say that Rosy Quartz is one of my favorite sheer polishes. I paired it with this holographic polish from Bee’s Knees Lacquer and really loved how soft and yet powerful it was!

Simple magnetic plaid nail art with KBShimmer, Sinful Colors, and Pahlish

Polishes used:
Pahlish The Good Dalek, 3 coats plus top coat. Formula was a little thick, but I prefer it that way. I was concerned flakies would stick up but happily, they didn’t!
KBShimmer Let’s Do Launch, 3 coats plus top coat. Formula was a little thick, but I’m okay with that. (See above.)
Sinful Colors Unicorns R Real 2411, 2 coats plus top coat. Formula was a bit thick and it applied unevenly.

Man, I just can’t get enough of magnetic polishes. I think this is my 9th magnetic mani within a week and half? 😀 Fair warning, there’s a ton of pictures today! Oh, I forgot, I took inspiration from this mani by nailsjustnailss.

I’ve been playing around with how I use the magnet with these magnetic polishes. With this mani, I hit the edge of the nail with the magnet, then went in at an angle by the knuckle.

Polishes used:
KBShimmer Thrust Issues, 3 coats plus top coat. Formula was a little thick but still workable. I used this tutorial for using the magnet, it worked better on some nails than others. I think I just need to practice the technique.

Crystal Parade Crystal/Pearl Steampunk Mix

I’m obsessing over my magnetic polishes I bought from KBShimmer so I paired it with an old China Glaze that I picked up awhile back from a local beauty supply store. Then I wanted to fancy it up a bit, so dug through my stash for this mix from Crystal Parade. I think it works quite nicely! Click through for more pictures. Turtle Tootsie Polishes Pink Velvet thermal manicure with studded accent nail

Polishes used:
Turtle Tootsie Polishes Pink Velvet [February Polish Pickup Pack], 2 coats plus top coat. Polish might be thick for some but it’s perfect for me, as I like polish a bit thicker. I think I could have done with doing one more coat to even things out but it still looks great!

I am so so glad I picked up this polish from February’s offerings at Polish Pickup. And I’ve got my eye on April’s offering from Turtle Tootsie because it’s a gorgeous looking magnetic polish! This is my current mani and it turned out really nicely. I was inspired by this mani by nailsbymlh. Pink Velvet is a fairly reactive thermal polish as well and I love both states! It’s a whitened pink when warm and a brighter pink when cold.

Skittlette manicure with CrowsToes Nail Color, Fancy Gloss, Crystal Parade

Polishes used:
CrowsToes Nail Color Headless Bride [gift from maker], 3 thin coats plus top coat. This was a little uneven but 3 coats evened it out. It had good glitter coverage.
Fancy Gloss Denim Daze, 2 coats plus top coat. This was almost a One-Coat Wonder, I didn’t need to top coat for it to shine.
