Model City Polish Electric Lemonade Skittlette

Good morning lovely readers! I totally forgot that I didn’t have a post scheduled for today, and I’m in a rush this morning, so let’s get to it.

I was fiddling around with polishes on my nail table one night and came up with this manicure. I started off with Model City Polish Latte on all my nails. I then used MCP Electric Lemonade in a distressed way on my pinky; blobby smeared dots on my middle finger; and part of a chevron on my pointer. I’ll be showing you swatches of Latte and Electric Lemonade soon!

I also used Finger Paints Glisten Here with the chevron and over Latte on my ring finger. Glisten Here is really lovely and I’m going to have to use it again soon.

Well, it isn’t my favorite ever manicure I’ve done. I liked all the polishes, but not how I used them together. haha! What do you think of it?

Finger Paints Rock the World Grunge Look

Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day to those who are moms!

I just love the way this turned out! The texture adds so much depth to this mani. I love how it looks like concrete spattered with spray paint. I hope you like this mani as well! 🙂

Finger Paints Stargazing Lilac

Good afternoon everyone! Apologies for the later post today – the kids and I had to get up fairly early and scoot out of the house. This has been the first chance I’ve had to sit down and type out a post! *Phew*

Today I have a lovely Finger Paints polish called Stargazing Lilac. I first did 2 coats of Finger Paints Pretty as a Portrait. I then painted 2 coats of Stargazing Lilac on top of each of them. First showing with A Girl Obsessed Matte-ict topcoat:

This is such a great sparkly polish, I’m glad I picked it up from Sally’s Beauty Supply! What do you think about it? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments. 🙂

FingerPaints nail polish swatch spam

Good morning all! 🙂 I hope you are dealing with the DST hour change okay. Last night I was up wayyyy too late and consequently this morning, my butt is dragging! I see copious amounts of coffee in my future.

Awhile back, I picked up these FingerPaints nail polishes and now I thought you’d like to see them! I do like FingerPaints polishes, I think they perform rather well. The only one I had a bit of trouble with is Pretty as a Portrait.

Finger Paints Bare No Secrets, 2 coats; first with A Girl Obsessed Matte-ict topcoat, then AGO Magpie Shine:

Finger Paints Sparkle in the Sky – a textured polish, 2 coats, no topcoat. This was one of my polishes I received from Dani at From Polish With Love in a Valentine’s Day gift exchange. It’s very similar to OPI Alcatraz…Rocks.

ellagee nail polish Stained Glass Collection (Partial)

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for some squishy polishes today! I have three polishes from ellagee’s Stained Glass line: Manganese, Cobalt, and Milk. I do need to note that I had a bit of trouble with Manganese and Cobalt. They seemed to get stringy (like when you’re doing sugar spun nails). I had particular trouble with Cobalt. It did help a bit to add thinner. On the upside, they dry pretty quickly!

Update: ellagee let me know that the polishes shouldn’t be like that and is sending me replacements. 🙂

First up is Manganese. This is a purple polish but it has a bit of brown to it. A really beautiful purple! This is 3 thin coats, with top coat.

I paired it with 1 coat of Finger Paints Go Baroque:

I then added one thin coat of Manganese over that:

Next is Cobalt. This is 3 thin coats, with topcoat. I adore this blue color, that might be why I was a little disappointed on how it applied:

I then dabbed on essie a cut above:

Last I added another thin coat of Cobalt:

I have shown you Milk before, but here it is again. This is a definite new favorite of mine!

12 Days of Xmas Manis: Decorations

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for the day! Can you believe it is only 2 weeks away from Christmas Day? Ahh! Crazy time! I have cleaned my house from one end to the other so at least I’m prepared for any unexpected company.

So not to add to any stress, but how about some holiday decorations on my nails? I knew what I wanted to do – Christmas stockings – but it took me forever to decide on a background for them. I (finally!) decided to use Pahlish Slow Like Honey and YouPolish I’m Worth It (glitter).

Isn’t this just the bees knees?! 😛 I really really liked this, I was almost loathe to cover it up with nail art. But, since I was trying to complete these challenge nails, I knew I had to keep going. I then used FingerPaints Red-Brandt for the stockings, Wet n Wild A Blank Canvas for the white top, and Red-Brandt and Sinful Colors Black on Black together for shading. Lastly, I used A Blank Canvas to put my family’s initials on each stocking.

I love that Red-Brandt makes the stockings look almost velvet-y. I know you want some more decoration ideas (haha!) so click the blue frog below:
