Radiant Orchid nail polishes, part 6 (The Berries)

Good morning everyone! 🙂 I’m so excited to be back posting about the Radiant Orchid nail polishes, and I hope you’re excited too. 🙂

Today’s nail polishes will be all those that fit within the berry spectrum of Radiant Orchid. I’ve used one coat of top coat on each of the following, except for Maybelline Lasting Lilac, since that is supposed to have a matte finish. If you’ve missed them, here are parts one, two, three, four, and five. I’m using this color pyramid by Sephora as a guideline:

So many in this group are ones that I love but I think Sinful Colors Fig just edges out the others, with Sagitta coming a close second.  What are your favorites from this selection? Don’t forget, I’d love to do a comparison post, so if you’d like to see any polishes compared to another, just ask! 🙂 The second to last post will be the Radiant Orchid glitters/holos. I can’t wait for those! Until tomorrow,

Radiant Orchid nail polishes, part 5 (The Brights)

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. 🙂 I was feeling like I needed a bit of a pick-me-up last night, so I had a hot bath. Man, there’s nothing better feeling than a hot shower or bath, you know?

Switching gears to other things that make me feel good: nail polish! Today’s Radiant Orchid polishes are at the bright part of the spectrum: they don’t really fit into any other category. If you’ve missed them, here is part one, two, three, and four. Here is the color swatch from Pantone, and the color pyramid from Sephora, that I’m using to go by:

What do you think about this color set? Orly Frolic has to be my favorite one – it’s just this great, bright, purple/pink color. I also like L’Oreal Check Me Out – that purple shimmer is so nice! Don’t forget that if you’d like to see comparisons of any polishes, to let me know in the comments. 🙂 The next set is the berry colors.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Xmas mani challenge, can you believe it? I’m still deciding on what I’m going to do – it’s freestyle tomorrow. Any suggestions? Later today I’ll have the last Advent manicure, so until then,

Crumpet’s 33Day Challenge: #5 Mexican

Hi everyone! I’ll be honest, it was a real struggle for me to find a pattern or print or artwork for me to imitate for today’s nail challenge. Then I stumbled across the work of artist Pristine Cartera-Turkus, in specific this painting:

And I knew I wanted to try recreating it on my nails. I started off with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Himalayan Blue:

Sally Hansen Himalayan Blue

I love this color, and it levels so nicely but it is a stainer for sure!

I then used Sally Hansen Kiwi Bikini (green), LA Splash Blowfish Yellow, and L’Oreal Creme Puffs for the sun ring. For the stems, I mixed OPI Black Onyx with SOPI Studs & Stilettos. For the flowers, I’ve used Maybelline Coral Glow, L’Oreal Crazy for Chic, Color Club Puccilicious, Color Club Abyss, and Color Club Bright Night.

Now, I know that my interpretation isn’t perfect, in fact it doesn’t come really *that* close, but I actually really like how it ended up. What do you think? Be sure to check out the rest of the manicures for today by clicking here:

I’m hoping to have a very special manicure later today, so check back then! Until later,

Junk in the Trunk – Paint Job Nail Lacquer

*Polish reviewed was won in a giveaway prize.*

Hello out there, all my fellow polish lovers and adventurers! 🙂 Today I have a really pretty polish that I won in a giveaway: Junk in the Trunk by Paint Job Nail Lacquer. I have been looking at several of their polishes, so when I won their instagram contest, I was beyond excited. Their polishes are very reasonably priced – $6 for full size 15ml bottle.

Junk in the Trunk is a hot pink jelly polish with purple, pink, yellow, orange and green glitters within it. It is packed! The glitters did settle a bit, but sticking it on its head for 5 minutes and it was good to go. I had no problems getting the glitter on my nails. I used 2 coats of Junk in the Trunk over a LA Splash hot pink color.

My camera was freaking out over how bright this was! I apologize for the poor picture below, but it shows a bit more accurately how bright this was, even on a cloudy day. (I was in my car.)

I literally couldn’t stop staring at my nails! What do you think of this amazingly bright color? I’m eyeing several of their other polishes as well! You can find Paint Job Nail Lacquer on etsy, instagram, and facebook.

Then & Now: LA Splash Aqua Fusion & essie beyond cozy

Good morning all! I have another re-do post for you today! 🙂 In both manicures, I used LA Splash Aqua Fusion, essie beyond cozy, and essie licorice.

I don’t think my “then” photos are too bad, but I see little things that I think I’ve gotten better at.

Now:
LA Splash Aqua Fusion, essie beyond cozy

LA Splash Aqua Fusion, essie beyond cozy, essie licorice

LA Splash Aqua Fusion is still has thick and hard to work with as I remember! essie Beyond Cozy isn’t really a picnic either. I love the effect, but it just gets too thick on the brush and makes it almost impossible to do nail art with. :/

Tomorrow I will have one more then/now post. Have you entered my giveaway yet? Make sure you do! Until tomorrow,
