So a few days ago, I went retail shopping as therapy to try to cheer myself up. It didn’t really work but I did pick up quite a few new makeup items, including three items I’ve used in this look: No Photos Please eyeshadow palette, Milani Luminous Light Highlighter, and Lottie London Holo Duo Chrome Lip Lacquer.

Sh*t, I really gotta get my act together and start paring down how wordy I am in my titles. Oh well. I didn’t want to make a separate post just for two photos of my new sunglasses so you’re getting them at the end of this post. (I decided to make a separate post after all.) Andddddd I have swatches galore in this post so it is a bit longer of a post. I hope you’re okay with that. 😛

Anyway, I saw an eyeshadow look on instagram from abajmiller and wanted to try it out. Of course, mine didn’t come out near as gorgeous as hers but that’s the way it goes. I’ve used the Lorac Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales palette again (I used it last week in my art deco makeup look).

Glamour Doll Eyes Insider Look 4: Cloud Coverage, Incognito Remix, Ma Belle, Pass the Bubbly

Hi everyone! I can’t believe I forgot to show you this look! This is actually look #5, but I wasn’t satisfied with how #4 looked, so you get this one! I’ve used Glamour Doll Eyes Cloud Coverage, Incognito Remix, Ma Belle, Pass the Bubbly for this EOTD.

I started off with a base of GDE Cloud Coverage (matte white).

Milani Blue Print swatch + review

Oh clearance bins, how I love thee! You make my wallet and I both so very happy when we find beautiful polishes in you – polishes like Milani Blue Print.

Blue Print is a beautiful bright blue creme nail polish.

Formula was great. This is 2 coats plus top coat, as it does dry matte.

I think I ended up paying $1.74 for this (weird amount I know!). All in all, a great find! What was your last great nail polish find?

Milani Mint Crush swatch + review

Morning lovely readers! The other day I picked up a few polishes on clearance over at Kmart and I’m going to share them with you – starting with Milani Mint Crush.

Mint Crush is an almost dusty blue-mint creme nail polish.

This is 2 coats, and no top coat. Though the formula is thin, it self-leveled really nicely. Mark it a win in my book!

December Faves #JanuaryBeauty

Good afternoon, my wonderful readers. I hope you enjoyed my blogging resolutions post yesterday, and I thank you for your feedback. I truly appreciate you, the reader, whether you comment or not.

Okay, today’s prompt for #JanuaryBeauty is December Faves. I thought I’d go through my makeup and my polishes and see what I really liked for December.

First up is nail polish, because, umm, this is a mainly a polish blog. 😛 This is Sephora Formula X Intergalactic, a textured polish. You’ll be seeing a swatch of this soon, as well as a nail art look with it.

Next up is Lorac’s Princess Palette (prize). I received the entire Lorac Royal Collection as a prize won from Hey Sabrina Faith. (Say hello to my elbows! LOL) While I used all of them a lot, I really kept going back to the Princess Palette.

Glamour Doll Eyes is one of my favorite places to pick up stunning eyeshadows, and I used a lot of GDE shadows in December! Dirty 30 is one of my favorites that I go back to over and over.

Milani Liquid Eye in 05 Brown is a new-to-me eyeliner but I found myself reaching for it over and over again in December.

I have a love/hate relationship with this next product: Buxom mascara. Sometimes I like it and it looks great; sometimes I hate it because it flakes like mad on me! I (obviously) liked it a lot in December though.

Lastly is one of my favorite lippies that I reach for all the time, no matter what. It’s Revlon’s ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry. It’s a matte (duh) red but warm pink undertone, and it totally gives off a retro vibe when I wear it, and I can’t get enough of it. Here’s a swatch of it on the back of my hand:

Face Of the Day with Wet n Wild, TEEEZ Cosmetics, and NYX Cosmetics

Hi, my awesome readers! I have so much fun playing with makeup and makeup looks, and sometimes I have a hard time finding reviews, swatches of makeup, or makeup looks for pale redheads. (Hey, natural redheads may be less than 2% of the general population, but we still want great makeup too!)

So, I thought I’d share more of my makeup looks on the actual blog (instead of just my instagram). It’s definitely not going to be every day, really just whenever I feel like sharing (and I have the time to snap a photo!). Don’t worry – nails and nail art will still be the main focus of this blog! That’s my first love and I’m still passionate about it.

For today’s look, I’ve used

• On my brow bone, Wet n Wild “base” from the Smoke & Melrose set
• On my eyelid, Wet n Wild “crease” from the Smoke & Melrose set
• In the outside vee, I’ve used TEEEZ Cosmetics in Sweet Sins
• Blush is Glamour Doll Eyes in Midlife Crisis
• Bronzer is Buxom Cosmetics in Tahiti
• Eyeliner is Milani Liquid Eye in 05 Brown
• Mascara is Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless in 001 Black (prize)

Smoke & Melrose is such a great 5-pan palette; I picked it up this summer/fall on a sale for $1.99. I do have a bit of fall out, but honestly, it’s a rocking palette for the money! Sweet Sins is a great duo chrome kind of shade: from a blue/green shade to a purplish red shade. It does have quite a bit of fall out though!

Lastly on my lips is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi:

Abu Dhabi is a bit more tan toned – not as orange as the picture shows. This is a fairly recent purchase, and my first Soft Matte Lip Cream from NYX. It does dry with a matte finish (uh derrr Jessica!), and it ends up drying out my lips after about 30 minutes or so.

I know my pictures aren’t the best, and I need to practice with color accuracy.  I don’t photoshop or edit my photos other than cropping and adding my watermark. Keep in mind that I’m not a professional makeup artist (and I don’t claim to be). Please stick with me as I (hopefully) get better at this! 🙂
