Smokey Eye and Nude Lip with Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate and Sephora eyeshadow palette for green eyes

Press Sample buttonHi everyone! I hope you are having a good afternoon. I realized I hadn’t shown a makeup look in awhile and I had some lipsticks sent to me to try out – Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate in 40 and 41 – so let’s kill 2 birds with 1 stone here. 🙂 I’ve also used an older eyeshadow palette by Sephora tailored for green eyes.

What’s In My Travel Bag: Makeup Edition

Press Sample buttonGood morning! This week, I’m talking about “What’s In My Travel Bag” since I’ll be traveling soon. Today I’m sharing with you what I consider to be my makeup essentials for traveling.

What's In My Makeup Travel Bag | Be Happy And Buy Polish

My requirements for what goes in my makeup bag: 1) it has to be something I will actually use, 2) no repeats (double blush, double bronzer, etc),  3) it has to be a necessity, and 4) I can’t go buy something new just for the trip.

Sephora Formula X nail polish swatches + review

purchased myself buttonGood morning lovelies! It’s Thursday and I feel a little stupid this morning. Let me explain. Last night I was trying to program my coffee machine (had this thing 3 years and never used the program part!). It took me 20 minutes and me looking up instructions (finally); I thought I had it set for 6:00 this morning. Well, I get up and there is no coffee (cue me internally screaming). I…ummm…sort of set it for pm instead of am. D’oh!

Anyway….today I have three nice polishes from Sephora Formula X, so let’s take a look! First up is Harmonics, 2 coats and no top coat:

In the middle is Zing, a charming bright blue. Unfortunately though, a stainer. (BOOO!) This is 2 coats, no top coat:

Lastly is Radioactive, a light almost neon green. It dries matte:

Then I applied a top coat:

I have to say that I was pleasantly impressed with Sephora Formula X, especially since the formulas across the board were great. I cannot believe how glossy the two were without top coat! Plus all three seemed to dry fairly fast.

I’d love to know which of these is your favorite? Have you ever had a “d’oh” moment of your own? (Please help me not feel so stupid and share!)

September Lip Factory Look

*Products/subscription box reviewed were self-purchased.*

Hello there! This is a follow-up post to the Lip Factory post of the other day.

I’ve used the following products to create today’s makeup look:

Skin79 SuperBB VIP Gold Collection
Skin79 Diamond BB UV Perfect BB Pact
Ulta Cheek Color in Sweet Cheeks
Benefit Watts Up Highlighter
Physicians Formula Sexy Glow Bronzer
-Sephora Arch It Brow Kit (no longer available)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
JCat Eye Pencil in Charcoal
Studio277 eyeshadow in Kryptonite (received in previous LF box)
-Ulta eyeshadow in Grey Smoke (no longer available)
Manic Panic Creature of the Night mascara (received in previous LF box)

In the two following pictures, I have ModelCo lip gloss in StripTease on my lips:

I don’t really like the JCat eye pencil as an eye liner, but I think it will be a good “sticky” base underneath loose eyeshadow.

ModelCo lip gloss is a really really lovely nude lip gloss, and I’ve already used it several times since receiving the gloss.

The following picture, I’ve used Be a Bombshell Cosmetics lip gloss in Nude Beach on top of ModelCo Striptease:

The Bombshell lip gloss does add a bit of shimmer to the lips, without being overpowering.

I also did a comparison of the La Fresh makeup remover wipes to Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover:

You can’t really tell a difference in the pictures, but it did seem like the La Fresh remover wipes removed the eye makeup a bit easier – I didn’t feel like I had to scrub my eye as hard. It also seemed to remove the mascara way better. The only thing is that I wish the wipes were smaller! In the above picture, I only used half the wipe. I just feel like it’s wasteful. (I might just cut the wipes in half.)

I hope this review was helpful! If you’d like to subscribe to Lip Factory, it is $22/month for U.S. subscribers, and you can sign up here. I would really appreciate if you used my referral number: 38343. Until tomorrow,

OMD Rather Awesome Challenge: Day 5 Skittles

Good morning! I’m having a slow start to the morning after a late night last night. I went to bed about 11:30p.m., then at 5 a.m. was awoken after having a very very scary dream about serial killers. After a half hour up because I was freaked out, I finally was able to go back to sleep. *phew*

Today I have skittles for you, the nails not the candy 😉 I’m afraid my skittles are pretty boring, I don’t really like skittle nails. I used 4 of the polishes from the Sephora by OPI Jasmine set.

I used all of these except the pale lavender color on the lefthand side, mainly because I hate how my left thumb looks and didn’t want it in the picture:

Here are my nails:

Yes, kind of plain today, but after the sparkle of yesterday, plain is okay with me. 🙂 Check out the other manicures for today by clicking here. I need to get to checking the last few days out myself, I’m behind in commenting on all the awesome manis!

I hope you have a good day, and aren’t too tired from yesterday’s activities! 😉 I’ll see you a bit later for Fashion Friday.
