Ever have a good idea and then execution is horrible? Yeah, that’s what happened here. I should have stopped after sponging Joie de Vivre over Pinkidescent. I wore it for a day, I just didn’t like it. And spent ages scrubbing off glitter. Ugh.

I’m writing this on Saturday night and dear God I am so glad this day is almost over. My husband had an employee call out sick and so he has to cover that shift; this means he’s working almost 20 hours straight. This also means that besides having a head cold, I was run ragged by my 4 (wild, crazy) dear, sweet children all by myself from sun up to sun down.

Magnetic marbled nail art with China Glaze, Bad Bitch Polish, Bee’s Knees Lacquer

Polishes used:
Bee’s Knees Lacquer Cat Island, 3 coats plus top coat. This had a really great application and formula. I like their long, flat brush too. The magnetic effect was more subtle than I liked, but it’s still beautiful.
Bad Bitch Polish November Dusk, 3 coats plus top coat. Beautiful formula, as per usual for BBP. Man, I miss them!
China Glaze Liquid Leather, 1 coat

I have such a backlog of nail art to show you right now. I’ve been changing my nails every day or every other day because I’ve been going through some pretty bad anxiety. Sometimes doing my nails and the ritual of it helps calm it a bit. There’s just something so soothing about taking off polish, and filing my nails, and then applying new polish.

Anyway, I’m trying out a new pose, so you’ll start to see that interspersed on the blog from here on out. For this mani, I’ve used a version of this tutorial from kombucha_witch_. I went dark with the background because I thought Cat Island would show up really nicely – and it did!

Pahlish Black Lace Elderberry + Bad Bitch Polish Witches Britches manicure

Polishes used:
Pahlish Black Lace Elderberry, 2 coats plus top coat.
This applied a little gloopy but there was good coverage.
Bad Bitch Polish Witches Britches, 2 coats plus top coat.
This was more jelly than I expected, but self-leveled well.

Black Lace Elderberry was a polish I wanted for a long time, it just always looked so pretty in swatches. Then I got it and used it and was just “meh”. Not the fault of the polish, it just didn’t click!

Simple Stripe Nail Art with OPI Polish and Bad Bitch Polish

OPI Nail Polish I Can Never Hut Up, 3 coats plus top coat. Formula was thin but not unwieldy.

Good Sunday evening everyone, I hope you’ve had a good weekend. My husband didn’t work today for the first time in 3 weeks so it was really nice to have him home. Though I’ll be honest, I’m kind of down tonight because I realized/it hit home that the anniversary of my mom’s death is Wednesday. Like, I always know the date of it, but I just got to thinking about it tonight. And I just … it makes me so incredibly sad because of everything she has missed. Everything that has happened since her death that I wish I could share with her – the highs and the lows. The kids and I will still be doing the random acts of kindness in her honor, but tonight I’m allowing myself to feel the grief and sorrow over her death. I guess this muted mani matches my mood.

Abstract nail art with Bad Bitch Polish

Morning all! Today I have nail art that I’m not sure what to call so I’m calling it abstract. Sometimes I look at it and see bird prints, sometimes I see a spaceship (like the Star Trek Enterprise, maybe?), sometimes I see stars. But whatever it is, I like how it turned out!
