I talked to you about how I was feeling on Sunday and I guess that feeling hasn’t gone away. My kids still want to do the annual random acts of kindness in honor of my mom; to be honest, I don’t feel like doing it. I wanna stay at home and eat my feelings and not change out of my pajamas. But I’m gonna buck up and do it for my kids. And then maybe tonight, I’ll sit with a piece of cheesecake and some wine and just cry.

Halloween Spider Nail Art Thermal Manicure with Polish ‘M and Turtle Tootsie Polishes

Morning all! This morning I have a fun thermal manicure to show you with Polish ‘M Trans-Allegheny and Turtle Tootsie Polishes Frankenstein’s Mask.

Trans-Allegheny is a light purple that shifts to a blurple to a deeper purple, with iridescent micro flakes. (Psst, it’s sold out as an individual, but you can still buy the 4-piece Halloween collection from Polish ‘M!) It looks like it dries textured but it doesn’t. It has a smooth application. This is 2 coats plus top coat.

Annual #RAOK4Lucy Day and manicure

Good morning everyone. Today is a quick post to remind you that it’s the anniversary of my mom’s death and that on social media today I’ll be posting the random acts of kindness my children and I will be performing in her honor. I’ve talked about my mom before (and memories of Almond Roca) and about the RAOK Day if you care to read through these posts. This is last year’s manicure.

I’m finding it harder and harder as the years go by to remember my mom – well certainly not her in a general sense but in a specific sense – the feel of her face, her voice, her laugh, the way she would hug me and tell me to hold my babies tight. So each year as her anniversary comes up, I try even harder to honor her and the lessons she taught me – as a mom, wife, and human being. Each year on this anniversary, my kids and I go throughout our city performing random acts of kindness as a way to honor her. I’m also finally getting a memorial tattoo this year! You Polish Lucy’s Sparkle + Pahlish Hallucinogenic Lipstick

Good morning all! I hope you had a good weekend. Today marks the 5th anniversary of my mom’s death and on this day, my kids and I remember her by doing random acts of kindness in our city. Along with that, I pull out a custom polish from You Polish – Lucy’s Sparkle – that I wear on “her day”.

What’s funny about adding Hallucinogenic Lipstick is that my mom always carried a tube of bright lipstick with her in case she needed to look a bit more “put together” (as she didn’t really wear makeup). I really love the combo of these two.

Mommy & Me Nail Vinyl Decals by You Polish review

Good morning everyone! I hope you are enjoying the weather, wherever you are. We are gearing up for kind of a busy week ahead of us, sometimes it’s nice to just sit and relax at the end of the day. 🙂

Awhile back, Lauren from You Polish had reached out to some nail bloggers who are parents, to see if they’d be interested in reviewing some “Mommy & Me” nail vinyl decals. I jumped at the chance, because not only do I love to do my nails, my little girl loves to have her nails done as well. 🙂 I was sent three different sheets to try out:

Bows, spirals, and mermaids (full sheet):

Cupcakes, butterflies, straight lines (I was sent a half-sheet):

Hearts, stars, and wavy lines (half sheet):

I love the fact that each decal and lines set are made in several different sizes for those small child fingers, and my fingers as well. The lines and cut-outs were a little hard to separate from each other – make sure you have an exacto knife handy.

Neon and Sparkly Nautical Nail Art

Good morning, lacquer lovers! I hope you had simply the best weekend. 🙂 It’s been super hot here, and my office is a sauna, so apologies for missing the In Case You Missed It round up post on Saturday. It’ll be back next week! Today, though, I have a super hot and fun summery manicure for you.

I started with 3 thin coats of ellagee The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway on my index and pinky fingers.

On my middle and ring fingers, I used 3 thin coats of Julie G Oh Em Gee!. I then used Julie G White Orchid on my ring finger to create an anchor, and on my middle finger, I used a bow vinyl decal from You Polish (press sample).

Of course, here’s an up-close shot of the ellagee polish. Isn’t it just a beauty?

I had so much fun creating this manicure, and I loathed to take it off! Isn’t that the best thing about creating a good manicure, though? You can still buy the bow vinyl decals from YouPolish for $5.50 for 75 on a sheet.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Glitter

Good morning, lovely reader! Today’s prompt for the challenge is “glitter” and talk about a broad category. I had trouble thinking of what I wanted to do!

I decided to start off with red and green holo diagonal stripes. I’ve used Pahlish Quantum Locked Life Form (green) with Orly Sparkling Garbage on top, and KBShimmer Whole Lava Lovin’ (red). On top of that I’ve used Sally Hansen Ice Pop and then You Polish I’m Worth It (just for added sparkle!).
