12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Nativity Scene

Good morning everyone! I can’t believe that it’s the last day of the challenge. Everyone who has joined this time has really stepped up their game, and I’m just thrilled that people continue to want to join my little challenge.

For the last day of the challenge – freestyle prompt – I decided to do a nativity scene. I’ve started off with a gradient of Sinful Colors Tidal Wave (light blue), Burning Bright (bright blue), Hot Spot (darker shimmery blue). I then used Queen of Beauty sponged on for a smattering of stars.

Then using Black on Black, Snow Me White, ellagee milk glass, and OPI Goldeneye, I created the manger, plus the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus in a crib, and St. Joseph.

I’m not real pleased with how my silhouettes look, but you know, for doing this last night at 11:30, I’m okay with it!

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: presents

Good morning my cheerful (or not so cheerful) readers! I can’t believe this is the second to the last prompt for this challenge! 😮

I’ve started off with OPI Jade is the New Black and Got the Blues for Red on alternating fingers. Then using the opposing color (and some striping tape), I created the box of the presents, then used Love.Angel.Music.Baby for the bows!

This came out totally like I wanted! Let’s check out more nail art looks for today:

Well, what do you think of my presents? I haven’t even started shopping for presents, to be honest! Have you?

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Ugly Sweater Nail Art

Good afternoon, beautiful reader! I’m so excited about today’s prompt for the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge, so let’s jump right in.

The prompt for today is “Ugly Sweater Nail Art”. I have to admit, I’m not “hipster” enough to really get why ugly sweaters are cool now. BUT, I really had fun searching for a design for today! I saw several sweaters where Rudolph was vomiting up Christmas bows, so I decided to go for that. (Check out more sweaters here, you’ll see my inspiration there!)

I started off with 2 coats of Sinful Colors My Turn, which I had forgotten was a matte nail polish. This is 2 coats:

I then placed striping tape on each nail and painted Sephora by OPI Frankly I Don’t Give A-dam over My Turn.

Then using admittedly a lot of other Sinful Colors nail polishes that I didn’t bother to write down, I created Rudolph, and some bows.

I’m cracking myself up over here, because looking at this makes me giggle. Let’s check out some more awesomely “ugly” nail art for today:

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Glitter

Good morning, lovely reader! Today’s prompt for the challenge is “glitter” and talk about a broad category. I had trouble thinking of what I wanted to do!

I decided to start off with red and green holo diagonal stripes. I’ve used Pahlish Quantum Locked Life Form (green) with Orly Sparkling Garbage on top, and KBShimmer Whole Lava Lovin’ (red). On top of that I’ve used Sally Hansen Ice Pop and then You Polish I’m Worth It (just for added sparkle!).

And of course, a close up shot:

Let’s check out more glittery masterpieces:

So, are you a glittery, bling-y person? Or not? I’m not usually, but it’s fun to go out of my comfort zone every once in awhile. 🙂

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: Christmas Decorations

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great Monday so far. 🙂 For today’s prompt of “Christmas decorations”, I have to admit that I kind of phoned it in. This weekend just wiped me out!

I’ve started with 2 coats of ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights, a really stunning black holographic polish, and almost a One-Coat Wonder:

I then used one coat of ellagee Sky, a flaky topper. I have to admit that I’m not completely sold on flaky toppers yet. Yes, this is pretty, but I’m just kind of meh.

Next I used just a bit of Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty, a silver sparkly glitter topper. Then using Sinful Colors Beau Brique, I created a ribbon and outlined it with Sinful Colors Black on Black.

I know it isn’t the most creative manicure, but I still like it! Check out some more Christmas decorations:

So…talk to me about flaky toppers. Are you going crazy over them? Or are you meh about them like me?

12 Days Of Christmas Nail Art: Red and Green

Good morning, how are you? It’s Saturday and it’s going to be a crazy weekend for me, so I’ve gotta hop to it this morning. 😉

Today’s prompt is red and green: talk about free form! Sometimes I don’t do so good with the free form (or the talking, as it turns out). Anyway, I wanted to go with a vintage look, so I decided to go with a minty/bright green with bright red and stark white.

Sally Hansen Perfect Pearing, Red Snapper, White On | Be Happy And Buy Polish

I started off with 3 coats of Sally Hansen Perfect Pear-ing on all fingers except my ring finger. Perfect Pear-ing is a really lovely minty green but dang it hates to self-level! On my ring finger, I’ve used Sally Hansen White On (2 coats). Then using Sally Hansen Red Snapper, I created dots and stripes! I ended up free handing the stripes, so they aren’t too straight, but dang it, I was in a hurry!

Let’s see what everyone else had in mind for today:

What do you think about this? I’d love to know! I know that I’ve been doubling up on posts every day lately, and I apologize, but I have a lot of posts to get through before the end of the year. Let me know your thoughts – are two posts a day too much?

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art: 3 French Hens

Good morning everyone! How has your week been so far? I feel like all I’ve been doing is rushing and I’m ready for a break.

Today the prompt for Challenge Your Nail Art 12 Days of Christmas is any line from the 12 Days of Christmas song. I decided to go with 3 French hens because I found this image through google:

So I started off with Wet N Wild Listening to Blue Reed, A Blank Canvas, and Red Red for the French flag as a background.

Then using ellagee milk glass, I muted the flag a bit:

To create the hens, I’ve used Black Creme, Wet Cement, The Clock Strikes Orange, A Venice Day (yellow), besides the aforementioned polishes.

I was going to show you a close-up of each nail, but just trust me…it was horrific. It looks much better from a distance! I should have top coated it, but I’ll be honest, I did these last night and wanted to go to bed and I just didn’t wait to want until these weren’t smear-able.

I can’t wait to see what other lines from the song were done!!
