Usually I don’t wear essie much because as much as I love the polish and finishes, for some reason it will just peel off my nails. And sure enough, I had this manicure on for about 24 hours and it just started peeling off. Ugh!

I know my cuticles are looking rough here – this winter has just been hell on my nails, even though I lotion and oil and baby them. 😦 How’s winter treating your nails?

Dry marble nail art with essie, Polish ‘M, Blackheart Beauty

Purchased by Me buttonPolishes used:
essie Jamaica Me Crazy
Polish ‘M La Magie
Blackheart Beauty Iridescent Peacock

I used a dry marble method for this manicure; I dabbed each polish on a piece of saran wrap, marbled them, then let them alone to dry. Once dry, I peeled them up and placed them on my nails. It’s freaking messy, even with peel off latex barrier!

essie polish Bell Bottom Blues swatch + review

Purchased by Me buttonYou know, it’s been forever since I’ve had essie on this blog. I do like their polishes, but I tend not to seek them out unless I see them at TJ Maxx (hashtag bargain hunter). So guess where I found essie Bell-Bottom Blues? 😛

Bell-Bottom Blues is a dark blue with glowing blue shimmer, and a slight tinge of purple. Formula was near-perfect consistency, and it dries satin. This was almost a One-Coat Wonder! This is 2 coats plus top coat.

You know, if I knew that every essie polish I picked up would have this great of formula, then I’d be buying a helluva lot more!

Essie Wrapped In Rubies swatch + review

Purchased by Me buttonAfternoon everyone! I hope you are having a spectacular Friday. How about a quick post with essie Wrapped in Rubies? (I’m going to assume that you’ve said yes and are still reading. 😉 )

Wrapped in Rubies is a warm toned red polish shot through with copper.

I’ve used 2 coats here plus top coat. You’ve got to work quickly here as it dries pretty fast.

I’m not usually one for red polish (I love the color red in everything except for nail polish, for some reason) but this is an interesting polish! I just wish it didn’t dry so fast, I would love it a lot more.

What’s a color you love in everything but your nails?

Guest Post From Procrastinails: Sea Turtle Nail Art

Good morning all! Today’s guest post comes to you from Katherine at Procrastinails (I friggin’ love that blog name!). I’ve known Katherine for quite some time in the nail community, and she is one of the sweetest and nicest bloggers. I’m so glad to have her here today!

Turtle stamping nail are with Essie and Konad

Hello dolls! Super pumped today to be writing a guest post for the lovely Jessica! I’m Katherine from ProcrastiNails and I’ve known Jessica for a while now. When I saw she was looking for some guest posters I jumped at the chance and put something together. What I ended up with was this fun and tropical sea turtle look!

Turquoise jellyfish and turtle nail art

I’ll be 100% honest with you and say this isn’t at all what I was planning to put on my digits when I sat down to play around. But that’s okay because I love it! I think I may have been unknowingly influenced by my background-noise movie of choice at the time (the newer and… very interesting… TMNT movie)…

To start I applied a coat of Essie Bell-Bottom Blues and then added some large random dots with Essie White Page and then dry brushed over them with more white to smear them along the nail. When I applied a layer of Essie Pen & Inky I was left with what I think looks like a school of jellyfish! AWESOME! If I was to add technical nail art terms I guess my base would be a single-layer pond mani with dotted dry brushing? Humm.

To finish it off I did some stamping with Konad White and some turtles from MoYou London Sailor Plate 10!

Here’s a closer look at my impromptu jellies! Do turtles eat jellyfish? I think they do! So maybe I should’ve called theses nails “Feeding Time”! (Is that as cheesy to read as it felt to write? Haha.)

Overall I’m super pleased with how these turned out, and I would once again like to thank Jessica for hosting me. 🙂 It was fun!

Let me know what you think about my turtles! And if you want you can also check me out on tumblr, facebook, instagram and twitter! 🙂 Thanks for checking my guest post out!

Are you kidding me with this? Isn’t this just freakin’ awesome?! Thank you, Katherine! Please let Katherine know what you think of this in the comments below, I’m sure she’d appreciate it. 🙂

Guest Post from B Nailed To Perfection: Tropical Marbled Mani

Good morning, my lovely readers! Today’s guest post comes to you from Bethany at B Nailed to Perfection. I started following Bethany earlier this year and I love her stamped manicures so much! Let’s check out what she created today:

Hello Be Happy and Buy Polish readers! I’m Bethany from B Nailed To Perfection. I feel so honoured to be posting on behalf of Jessica while she takes a well deserved rest with her new baby. I have read and loved her blog for quite a while now so this is a big deal for me. I hope you enjoy my post 🙂

I wanted to try something I haven’t done before and that was marbling with nail polish. I have actually seen this technique demonstrated by Nail Stamp 4 Fun on YouTube. She dabs a few drops of polish onto the back of a stamping plate and then squishes her stamper to mix the colours. Then she applies it to her nail. What’s weird is that the polish almost turns into a stamped image?! You’ve got to try it, it’s really fun!

On my pinky finger I have 2 coats of Strut Your Stuff by Essie which is a bright blue creme. For my two marbled nails I used a base of Color Club French tip and then put a few drops of Strut Your Stuff onto the back of a stamping plate.

I added a few drops of Morgan Taylor Tokyo a Go Go onto the stamping plate and then mixed them and applied to my nails. There is also two coats of Tokyo a Go Go on my index finger. It is a gorgeous pink leaning purple cream.

I felt like the colours had a tropical feel so I grabbed my new MoYou Tropical plate 03 and stamped some images in white.

I sealed in my design with my favourite top coat which is H K Girl by Glisten & Glow.

Thank you for reading my guest post and if you liked it please feel feel to stalk me on the below 😉 Bye for now x

Wow, isn’t this just super pretty? That Morgan Taylor polish in particular is my favorite. See what I mean about being in love with her stamped manicures?! I hope you start following Bethany and fall in love with her manicures like I have. 🙂Â
