Guest Post From Polish Those Nails: Patterned Manicure

Good morning all! I can’t wait for you to check out this awesome post by Marisa of Polish Those Nails, so let’s check it out:

Hello lovelies!

I’m so excited to be guest posting for Jessica while she’s away taking care of her little one! Jessica is one of my favorite bloggers, because not only are her nails gorgeous but I love how committed she is the nail polish community. I knew instantly that I wanted to help her out by contributing a post.

Andddddd, I should probably introduce myself now…so hi, guys! I’m Marisa and I blog over at Polish Those Nails (previously Hey, Darling Polish!) My blog consists mainly of nail art, patterns, indie polish, and rambling. Which I’m currently doing, so let’s get to the nails! 😀

be-happy-buy-polish-guest-post-grey-pattern-nail-art-bottle-shotPatterned nail art is my favorite to paint and to wear, so I wanted to share that with all of you! This look was inspired by this pattern by Moniquilla. How cute would this be as a scarf?

nails, nail art, nail polish, pattern, polish those nails, guest post, 1. Start by applying two coats of Pelican Gray.

2. When that’s dry, add a layer of Follies.

3. Using a detail brush and black paint, add on all of the “leaf” shapes.

4. Go back in with a smaller brush and blue paints for the flowers.

5. Finish each flower with a tiny spot of either white or black.

6. Clean up.

7. Add a layer of Glossy Glam.

nails, nail art, nail polish, pattern, polish those nails, guest post, I loved wearing these! Gray polish isn’t something that I usually wear, but it’s nice to take a step back from all the super, crazy colors that I often reach for. What do you guys think of these nails? Are they something that you would wear? I’d love to hear your thoughts (:

Thank you so much for allowing me to take over your blog for this post, Jessica. I hope you’re doing well and are getting some sleep haha! Thanks to everyone who reads this too!

LynBDesigns Cheshire Grin, Jasmine, Master swatches + review

Gift buttonHello and good Wednesday morning to you! It is Wednesday, isn’t it? Some days I get all mixed up and I don’t know what’s left from right, if you know what I mean. LOL. I have three beauties from LynBDesigns to show you today, so let’s get to it!

LynBDesigns Cheshire Grin | Be Happy And Buy Polish

LynBDesigns Cheshire Grin macro | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Cheshire Grin is from the Alice in Wonderland collection. This is a really lovely lavender nail polish that’s just so springy!

Although you can’t see the holo effect too well in these photos, it is still sparkly in person. This is 2 coats.

LynBDesigns Jasmine | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Jasmine was from the Disney Princesses collection (it is not currently available for sale). This is just a great dusty minty green. This is 3 coats.

LynBDesigns Master over Jasmine | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Last is Master, a glitter topper, from the They Say of the Acropolis collection, that I’ve layered over Jasmine. This has black, white, iridescent, matte, and metallic glitters in a clear base. This is 1 coat over Jasmine.

Well, all three of these polishes have me longing for spring (as I stare at the snow in my yard)…how about you? Have a great day, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

At first I was a little worried about putting this on, I mean, oranges don’t usually look good on me.

But I’m totally won over, it just stuns me!

LynBDesigns M’Lady’s Prerogative

Purchased by Me buttonGood morning everyone! It’s another cold & blustery day out and I’ll tell you what, I’m longing for spring! I’m longing for warm summery days, like back when I first swatched & took the photos of today’s polish (holy crud, I know, right? I’m so behind!): LynBDesigns M’Lady’s Prerogative.

M’Lady’s Prerogative is a polish from LynBDesigns Downton Abbey collection, inspired by Lady Mary. I’m not a fan of the show, so I can’t really speak to that. (Should I be a fan? I can’t always get into period dramas.)

This is 2 easy coats with Barielle top coat, inside the lightbox:

I’ll be honest, this isn’t one of my favorites in just regular light. It just seems a bit too foil-y or something for my taste.

But you stick it outside, and look at the pretty that comes out to play:

Even still, it isn’t my favorite polish ever from LynBDesigns (that’s probably Yukon Gold). But I’d love to know your thoughts on this polish! Is this something you’d rock, or not?

LynBDesigns Pliny the Elder + Spot the Cuttlefish

Purchased by Me button

Good morning everyone! I hope your new year is going great so far. It’s the last holiday weekend before the kids go back to school and tonight we are going to a Lego exhibit at a local museum! I can’t wait. 🙂 Today I’m showing you two polishes from LynBDesigns: Pliny the Elder and Spot the Cuttlefish (plus a comparison!).

*Programming Note* I had quite a few polishes I wasn’t able to show you in 2015, so I’ll be trying to get those posted over the next couple of weeks.

LynBDesigns Pliny the Elder is a brown based holographic polish with sparkly orange holographic bits thrown in. This is 2 coats:

Outside, full sun:

LynBDesigns Spot the Cuttlefish is definitely a polish that is meant to be layered over another polish. I tried it on its own and my nails looked tobacco stained (no bueno). So, I tried it over Verity Hot Red (press sample). It is a jelly brown holographic polish with gold flakes. Here is 2 coats over Verity Hot Red:

When I was editing these photos, I realized that Pliny the Elder reminded me a lot of LynBDesigns I’m Not Myself You See. Let’s check that out:

LynBDesigns I'm Not Myself You See | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Compared to Pliny the Elder, which is more red toned, I’m Not Myself You See is more brown with no extra sparkles. I’m glad I own both!

What do you think of these two polishes? I’m not usually a brown fan, which surprises me how much I like Pliny the Elder. It’s that extra sparkle!

LynBDesigns Why Meddle? swatches + review

Purchased by Me buttonGood morning, my fantastic reader! How is your day? Wednesday is my early day, so I’ve fixed extra strong coffee this morning. *jitters*

Today I have LynBDesigns Why Meddle? from the Meet Me at the Abbey collection. This is a bright blue holographic polish with gold shimmer. This is 3 coats with Barielle top coat:

Outside, direct sunlight:

Overall, it is a nice polish, but I just found it to be a little too much gold shimmery for my taste. What do you think of it?
